I'm not sure, but I think the actual definition is someone who posts deliberately antagonistic comments in order to start a drama for no reason other than for entertainment.
However, I and many others use it to mean just about anything, including but not restricted to people who ask stupid questions, people who make threads that we find annoying, people who purposefully follow other members around the boards just to provoke them, people who fail to attend appointments, people who talk about nonsense in therapy appointments to avoid srs bsns, etc etc etc. It is sometimes meant in an unpleasant way, but amongst friends is more casual and not offensive.
Does that help to explain it at all?
