CBT is a very specific type of therapy that looks at your behaviours and thoughts associated with those behaviours. Your problem at the moment doesn't seem to be with the self harming behaviour but with the ideation of self harm and the lack of coping strategy. Have you thought about going for some sort of non specific counselling to explore why you feel that you need to hurt yourself to cope with all the things that are happening around you.
I've got somethings going on in my life which to be honest are stressing me out,but these are things that are TOTALLY beyond my control
CONTROL - may be the key issue here. When you are hurting because of things around you that you cannot control, you may feel that you need to gain control by hurting yourself and hence controlling your own hurt?
Don't give up and stay strong. Quite often after a long period without self harm, you build a mental image of how it's going to be and how well you'll be able to cope or how the pain will distract you from what ever else is going on. In reality it's often not how you imagined it, you realise the external problems are still there and you now have an extra wound to see you and an extra scar that you didn't want.
