Okay, so I was looking through photos from many years ago and I came across this photo I took on a train in Amsterdam. I took it because the graphics made me laugh. It comes across as "You cannot smoke, use your phone or do star jumps, but you CAN pick your nose".
I stayed at a uni close to where I live last year for a summer school and there were signs in the girls toilets telling you how to use the loo! There was a story in the news about it because they were apparently designed to help foreign students learn "Western bathroom customs" haha.
This one was my favourite - sitting is compulsory if you're a lady!

But why? Surely that is extremely sexist...
The world is just illusion always trying to change me.
You will find wonder wherever you can, and spread joy whenever you are able.
I felt emotions of gentleness and pleasure, that had long appeared dead, divide within me. - Frankenstein.
Men have a penis which they can aim (albeit often poorly as they still miss!). Women do not, ergo sitting means it goes in the place it's supposed to whereas standing it would go everywhere.
I presume because it was in the ladies' toilet, they said ladies. If I was having a nice wee and saw a sign saying "ladies and gentleman", I'd be like "o_O there are gentleman in this lavatorial facility??"

Reason: Apostrophe error, woe :'(
And I don't think it's to be taken literally, I think they've worded it that way, just to make it a bit funny. I'm sure a lady with exceptional aim would indeed be permitted to stand/crouch/jig whilst weeing, it's just making the point that it's NONE of the fun when there is wee everywhere. As enjoyable as wee is.
This sign is upsetting as it is poorly laid out and has basically no balance. The general idea on the other hand is funny- I love funny signs.... especially in the loo when one might get bored.....
