Do you think you are ever too old to have a best friend? I hope not...
To be a best friend is awesome, but to be the best friend of someone who has a profile on this site for whatever reason must be really hard.
I'd like to tell my best friend just how much his presence in my life means to me - but for all the words I have to convey darkness & despair & hatred - I cannot find the right words to tell him just how much I love him...
Tell me about yours? or in fact if you are a best friend of one of us - tell me what it's like?
Please remember - nothing triggering. I'd like nice.

Reason: Spelling!!
I definitely don't think you're ever too old to have a best friend.
My best friend is my girlfriend and I share your problem- I have ALL the words for woe and sadness, but can't find the perfect way to say how much she means to me. And she has an profile on here, so will have the pleasure of reading this should she have the inclination to stalk :p
My best friend is also a member here. I try to tell her enough how much she means to me, but again, it's sometimes hard to find the right words.
You're never too old to have a best friend. Never.
Now I'll play your ghost as my ace, whenever I'm led astray.
But I am actually good, can't help it if we're tilted.
I'm in my right place, don't be a downer.
I would count myself as having two 'best friends'. They are the people I am closest to, whom I have known for a considerable period of time and who know the most about me. One I have known for 13 years, the other I have known for five or six years. Neither are members of this site although the one I have known for five years, K, also has mental health difficulties and does know my account info for this site but has the grace not to stalk me on it. The other, T, knows about my craziness but I have only let her in more in the last two or there years. To me a best friend is someone you can count on, who knows the best and the worst of you and accepts it more than any other individual. I definitely don't think there is an age limit on that. T knows my best and my worst and helps me focus on the best and try and keep that at the forefront. K knows my worst and most of my best but has stayed with me and gone above and beyond when I've been at my worst. She is the person I will go to for help when really bad and is also my crisis contact with the CMHT although we've had some awesome times as well. T is my 'normal/quirky' friend who for the most part let's me be me without the craziness even when I can't separate the two myself. K let's me analyse the crazy without judgement. I hope this explanation make some sense!
In my opinion, a best friend is someone who is supposed to be your friend for a significantly long period of time - hopefully forever. So no, you can never be too old. I frequently discuss growing old with my closest friends.
I'm not great at affection, so I show my best friends how much they mean to them through actions, rather than words, and I hope they do realise how much I love them.
If you really want to tell your best friend how much they mean to you, I recommend a letter. I've always found it easier to tell people that I love them when they're not right in front of me.
I'm glad you never get to old!!
My best friend is a member here - he uses it to keep an eye on me (but not in a sneaky way!)
He knows more about me than anyone - he is the only one that has very met my "alter" & known he was talking to someone that wasn't me. I reckon we've known each other 8 years or so. He has only known about my crazy for about half of that - that's what comes of taking copious amounts of drugs together in your younger years I guess!!
He is now (sensible ish) & was best man at my wedding & god father to my son. It's odd - I tell him I love him all the time, but sometimes it just doesn't seem enough. He is everything I am not plus a little bit more.
Thanks for watching.

Reason: Adding
I met my best friend at a rave and we've been best friends ever since. My other best friend is my boyfriend. They both get on really well, which is unusual for me as usually my friends don't like the people I date.
My best friend was the girl i went to primary school with we are still friends but she lives in Saudi Arabia and is married so I rarely see her.
I have lots of close friends now some are rylers some aren't

I used to have best friends, but when i became ill i shunned them and we lost touch over the years. But recently I have plucked up the courage to meet with a friend at my home who i used to spend hours with almost every day. Her and her husband have since moved to Dubai, but im sure we will now stay intouch, if not visit!
I am now in fb contact with a friend who was my bridesmaid years ago. they live quite nearby, so may be one day, when i have the courage we will meet.
I also recently bumped into my manager (when i worked) in a store I love. It was like old times..though im very nervous about going back in and seeing her. Weve agreed that one day I will let her know when im in town and we'll have a coffee and chat.
My best friend is literally my lifelong best friend. I can honestly say I've never not known her. She's three years younger than me, but we've spent all our lives together. Holidays; summer, easter, xmas, half terms, even some weekends. As kids, we wrote our letters to father christmas together, we played together all day every day we were together, we've shared all our firsts. Together.
Every summer we'd spend two weeks in a caravan park, my family in one caravan with Nan, her family in the other caravan with Grandad. We've travelled all over England, together, as a family. We also went up to their house every summer.
Most of my childhood memories involve her in some way. Going round looking at Christmas lights. Easter egg hunts. Halloween parties. Toys. Pets. Music. Birthdays. Christmas. Easters. Parties and Dos. Fears. Happiness and tears.
My best friend, who is my also my cousin, saved my life. No words can describe how much I truly do love her.
It's ok to do whatever you can to keep from hurting yourself.
My best friend lives hundreds of miles away from me and I'm lucky to see him once a year, but when I see him, it's like we've only been apart for a few hours.
