hey, i remember how scared i was when i got diagnosed with ocd. it was really scary to have something "wrong" with me, but it was also kind of good to know that i wasn't going crazy (and you aren't either).
a really good resource for OCD information and treatment is the International OCD Foundation. the website is at
www.ocfoundation.org the treatment that has proven to be most effective for ocd is Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) which is a submethod of cognitive behavioral therapy. it involves repeatedly facing the things that you fear, in small amounts, until your body and mind don't react, and then facing something a bit more difficult, and then a bit more difficult. it definitely is not pleasant, but it REALLY does work and not much else will. if you want more info, just send a pm. :)
