how many urges have you resisted though? rather than counting days and time, try keeping a tally between the urges that you beat and the urges that you give in to. doing that helped me to see that i'm not going back to the beginning when i gave in and to keep things in perspective to help me keep moving forward...

Fight for another day

Your not stupid, it sounds like you really tried to resist the urge to cut and that counts for alot. Try not to beat yourself up over this. Keep fighting xxx

Please don't feel stupid and pathetic, we all know for a fact that you're not. As it's already been mentioned self-harming isn't easy to give up, and you should try to see each achievement for what it is in all it's positivity rather than telling yourself you're not good enough. It's difficult, but switching the perspective can really help sometimes.
Have you developed any strategies for how you can get through some of the urges? Coming up with a list that works for you can sometimes be really helpful. It's also easy to understand why you'd want to suddenly self-harm again after slipping up, but that's only because your brain has been reminded of why it is you were doing it in the first place. It's not a good behavior in the long time, but your brain, when in that frame of mind, thinks it's all it needs. Objectively, we know this not to be true. Easier said than done, I know, but try to remind yourself that you're trying to give up for a reason, and that you can get through it. It takes time but it certainly is possible.

Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world awaits in darkness for the light that is you.
