I was on the pill on lamotrigine and it had no effect on the pill. Im now on depo provera and apparently it doesnt effect it. Im not taking lamotrigine due to the rash. Carbamzepine and depekote effect hormonal contraception but not lamotrigine.
I was on lamotrogine a while ago and they put me on a higher dose due to being on the pill HOWEVER I was also told that lamotrogine made the pill less effected. The NHS also suggest that this may be the case - http://www.nhs.uk/medicine-guides/pa...mg%20table ts
I would suggest talking to your Dr about it as they should be aware of any interactions and so on.

The best thing to do really is to talk to a doctor because different forms of contraception may be better for you with/without the lamictal. It's the only way to make sure you definitely get accurate advice (and yes, lamictal can make the pill less effective).
Always seem to get things just that little bit wrong.
