I am currently:
could I be bipolar?

hey guys. I'm confused again. I went a doctor a while ago and she said I have depression. I didn't tell her that i had sh or suicidal thoughts, I'm not sure if that was the best choice. anyways, she put me on medication and it backfired terribly. I has the worst ever time of feeling terrible, I even felt extra suicidal and had to miss a week of school. it was awful. now I don't take anything. she said I might have manic depression and wanted to put me on that medicine but I refused since I didn't want it to backfire like the other stuff. I think I might have a bipolar disorder since I have a lot of the symptoms, and I'm pretty sure my dad did. I also have add and can't sit still at all. one of my friends said that he thinks my personality changes a lot. could I have bpd? I'm so confused and I'm still trying to figure put what the hell is wrong with me.

None of us can tell you what you may or may not have. However, if you are concerned, I would suggest going back to your doctor and telling them how you feel. I'm sorry the first medications didn't help you, but everyone reacts differently to them and doctors almost have to aim at pot luck to get the medication right for the person in the first instance. They can use the fact that the first ones made you feel a certain way as more information to choose the next ones, so they could possibly be much more successful, so maybe re-think whether you could try them for a while?

If you are worried about your mental Heath you need to go back to your GP and talk it through with them. It would be irresponsible for anyone here to "diagnose" you. You best option it your GP x

Your Gp would probably be the best person to talk to in this scenario, I know its really hard but please try to be completely honest with them about how you are feeling.
A lot of people struggle to adjust to antidepressants when they are first prescribed and it is not unusual for people to react badly to them. They are known to cause suicidal ideation in people that are already prone to that kind of though pattern. Sometimes it is worth sticking with them as your body will get used to them and they should start to have some positive effect. However if you do have bipolar then some antidepressants can have adverse reactions and send people into a manic episode.
There are many different types of medication and therapy out there so it is definitely worth persevering until you find the right one for you. If you don't agree with what your GP has to say then ask for a second opinion.
