Favourite TV ads

What's your favourite TV advert, past or present?

Mine is this one, and yes I remember Rumbelows when it was still around (I could still point out what shop it was on the high street!)

When I was doing my A levels - including Sociology, obviously! - BT ran an advert where Maureen Lipman has a phone convo with her son, and she says "Oooh you've got an ology, that means your a scientist!" It was a sort of theme ad in my family for a while! Seeing as it was in '88 I may not be able to find it, so let me see.... Here we are -

Great ad Stellata! I remember that one when it was brand new!

Actually I have a story about adverts. When I was little I was a bit of a pest when my mum wanted to see to my younger brother. The only thing is that I used to love adverts and used to be absolutely mesmorised by them. So my mum recorded a load of adverts off the telly, and when she wanted to left alone with my brother she used to play the video which had the adverts on. It worked for a while until I got used to the adverts, of which she had to record a new set of adverts.

Even now I get distracted/mesmorised by adverts. To me they're sometimes better than what is on the telly! I love the Flash advert that is on the telly, but it's not on youtube! I think I should have a career in marketing LOL.

I also really liked The Cog when it first came out. Like you say insignificant_one, I think it's because it's mesmorising.

This is definitely my most memorable advert:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYj5o4kQsXs"]Um Bongo Orginal Advert - YouTube[/ame]

I think I remember it most as Um Bongo fascinated me - but, due to its sugar and possibly additives in the 90s I wasn't allowed it. I've never even had it. Wonder if they still do it... as an adult I can have ALL the sugar and E-numbers.

I love um bongo, and they have fairly recently re-released it, it's still full of sugar, but there's fewer e numbers.

I bought some cartons from Asda the other day, it's expensive but it just reminded me of being a kid!

In more OT news I don't really have a favourite advert, I tend to flick channels when they come on!

Claire, I may have to investigate!

Katie, that's the one - my friend used to be able to do the whole thing in Scouse (even though she was a Geordie).
