I am currently:
Mood swings and obsessions

Hi,
Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this? I have autism, and this means I can be absorbed into an interest to the point of obsessiveness. I also have mood swings (diagnosed DID), and these can go all the way to suicidality within minutes. Yesterday, I experienced frustration with my website not working properly, and at first I obsessed over trying to fix it, but after a few hours of doing that, I exploded and got into a suicidal rage. This lasted only about half an hour or so (I took a PRN Ativan right away), but it was severe. I have these mood outbursts more often lately, and was wondeirn gif anyone has any ideas for preventing and/or stopping them. I can't seem to feel them coming unfortunately

Have you tried any relaxation techniques? They can be very helpful for getting you to calm down enough so you can reassess the situation. Also what about trying some distraction techniques? A huge list can be found here.

I have autism too. Mood swings are actually fairly common in autism as well. I can fly into rages or completely shut down in reaction to something unpleasant.

Are you getting any treatment for your mood swings?

The relaxation techniques are a good idea.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
