Contains illicit drugs - Drug testing

Hi Guys I really need advice
I have just been accepted into university in the UK to study nursing
I think they will probably do a drug test before I start, so I was wondering if anyone knew how long does mephedrone stay in your system for?
I was taking quite a lot the past few days but Now that I've got a place in University to study what I want to do I am obviously going to stop taking it, I just really hope this doesn't stop me getting into uni.
I would be devastated if i didn't get in because of a stupid mistake :(
please help guys! any advice on drug testing would be really appreciated

thanks xx

I don't think they do drugs tests - my sister's just about to start and she's not had one (post grad nursing).

They do want you to have all your jabs though.

It doesn't matter where you come from; it matters where you go.
No-one gets remembered for the things they didn't do.
We won't all be here this time next year,
so while you can take a picture of us.
We're definitely going to hell,
but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

You'll get an occupational health assessment in which there are several blood tests for. I don't know how long that drug stays in your system, but I hope everything works out for you on that respect. Congrats on the uni place.

btw, they will ask you if you have ever used drugs before. I suggest you be honest. It will not stop you getting in if it was a past issue, but if they find out that you have used and had not been honest, you could be kicked off the course.

Mephedrone will most likely stick around in your urine for 3-5 days. It would most likely give a false positive for amphetamine too. I'm not sure if you'd actually get a drug test, but I'd make sure you've got at the very least a week without taking anything.

On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

First off, congratulations on your place at uni!

I haven't been able to find anything about ephedrine specifically, but few drugs are detectable in your urine for more than 5 days after you last take them (the only exception I know of is cannabis, which can be detected up to 7 days after a single use, and up to 30 days for regular users).

I know it's probably not much help as I don't know the system in the UK, but for what it's worth, I can pretty much guarantee that no university over here would do drug tests as a routine part of the admissions/enrollment process, not only because they generally don't much care as long as you don't get caught with illicit drugs on campus or otherwise cause problems for the school, but also because they'd end up excluding far too many students if they did that. So I doubt they'll do a test at all. And even if they did, and you do test positive for mephedrone (or anything else), it's far more likely that they'd just refer you for counseling, and maybe follow up with random tests or whatever to make sure you don't continue using it, than actually exclude you from the course for it. You're just about to start uni, so you're probably, what, 18 or 19? While I can't promise anything, I'm probably a good bit younger than most university staff, and I'd already see someone your age and about to start uni testing positive for drugs as a young person who made a mistake, and definitely still deserves another chance, not someone who should be kept out of university for it. If know that I were a teacher or administrator at a university, and I found out an incoming student tested positive for drugs, I'd want to make sure that it was either an isolated incident and she wasn't continuing to use them, or that she was getting help, but about the last thing I'd want to do would be to kick her out of the course entirely.

Anways though, I think enough time has gone by since you first posted this thread that if you haven't used again since then, and haven't had a drug test yet, you should be fine even if you do have one :)

And let us know how it goes. I, at least, am curious to know if they actually do do drug tests at uni like that in the UK.
