my name just gets spelt wrong all the time, i gave up trying to correct people. But i was a horrible speller as a child so i must have wrote so many things wrong.

I get called this! And 'maymee'. I also have a really long surname from Switzerland so I get called all kinds of nonsense including 'Gorgonzola' (as in the cheese). Ktea is pretty cute though
My uncle sent me a card for my 21st and wrote "Gemma" [most of my mum's side of the family call me that], and then my five-year old cousin wrote a bit to me on the other side of the card and managed to correctly write "Jenna". I was impressed.
My name gets spelt Olliveier a lot more often than it ever should! How hard is it to spell Olivia? D:

The worst was when I used to ski race, In german gh isn't pronouced as it is here so I was always called 'Leaf' when they announced me. Bad times.

A friend of my parents used to always spell my name wrong.. last count she managed 6 different ways. It's not that hard to spell Hannah!

My little brother got carried away with the N's in my name and turned them into m's hence Hammmah. A more common mistake is Hanah or Hanna though :L Mostly my surname is spelt terribly wrong.
Another funny story from my little brother; in person he said "you're 18 now aren't you, next year you'll be 19 and then you'll be dead" :L Not quite yet!

Some girl in school used to call me Muuurn. It was really annoying. Our History teacher used to spend a considerable amount of time in every single class trying to pronounce my name when doing the roll call. Unpleasant.
No one can ever say my surname they just look at it for ages and say 'Co-el-her' and it's just like, 'No. It's Cola, like coca cola...' it's spelt Koehler.

I'm really surprised by that! I mean I know Irish names can be deceptive, like Caoimhe and Grainne [prizes for correct pronunciation folks!], but I assumed that because you folk learn Irish at school, everyone would be good at spelling Irish names.
Claire has various spellings, so although not exactly incorrect perse, my name is often mis-spelt. When people ask me how to spell it (with an e, with an i, etc) I usually just say "with ALL the letters"
