Disconnecting

If I go to my GP, can she take me off all my meds and remove me from all psychiatric services if I ask her too?

To say I'm completely devoid of morals, would be harsh. Although I would have to admit I find it difficult to give a ****.

Not if it would endanger your safety, no, I don't think so.

Would you like to talk about why you want to disconnect?

I don't trust them, and they're screwing me about.

A year ago I was forced into hospital against my will for 3 or 4 months. I stopped harming 5 weeks ago and it was incredibly hard. 4 days ago I hit rock bottom and I feel really unsafe, I told my psychiatrist and begged him to admit me for two weeks before college starts so that I didn't fall back into self harm. He said no. Now I'm harming again, back to square 1.

I just feel like there's no point seeing these people if they're not going to take into account how I, the patient, feel.

Did he explain why he wouldn't admit you? What other options to help keep you safe did he suggest?

He didn't suggest anything, just said that he felt it wouldn't help. I've not got on with him from the start. I see his junior doctor usually.

Not really. I have a tendency not to get on with anybody in person. The only person I get on with is a non-clinical lady I see with Penumbra (self harm charity), because she listens to me and takes my feelings into account when planning what we do.

LJ - psychs dont really like to admit patients with BPD unless they are in great danger of themselves. This is because people with BPD usually get attached with when they feel unsafe that they need to be in hospital when really we just need to learn mechanism and coping strategies to get us through.

Welldone for being sh free for a while. If you've done it once you can do it again. It takes alot of strength and courage to get through it the first time thus meaning you can do it again! X

Disconnecting would be a bad idea as if things became worse you wouldn't get support at all, which is worse than getting the minimal support that you get now.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
