Insomnia and sleepwalking
Hiya. So, I'm better now. Maybe I'm still not sleeping as much as I should, or as I would consider "normal", but I'm actually sleeping for a fairly decent amount of time.
I filled my psychiatrist in, and he said there was a chance of medication for sleepwalking, or for nightmares of something.
I don't know much about sleepwalking, to be honest. I know I'm a sleep talker, or shouter, but I've not thought of this before.
I tried to describe to him what it's like waking for a nightmare, that it can take a while to properly shake it off. Not just the scare, but the sense of it being real, and I told him that during this time I sometimes act upon whatever was happening in the nightmare, whether that's to run and hide somewhere, or, as happened with the last one a few weeks ago, try and hurt myself because I did something unforgivable.
So he said it might be a sort of sleepwalking deal, because I'm not really aware of what I'm doing, and when I properly wake, I get confused between what I was thinking a moment ago, and what I know is real around me. But at the same time, those moments between 'waking' and waking, I feel completely awake and aware.
I don't know, it confuses me.
