Concerned about what's going to happen
My counsellor wants to discharge me and make me see a phsychiatrist (sorry I can't spell it) but I'm scared of what the phsychiatrist's going to do to me when he comes to the place I get counselling, I've agreed to see the phsychiatrist purely and simply because I'm terrified of getting sectioned if I don't co-operate with them
What do they do to you when you see one I am so scared

Does this mean that you will no longer be in counseling? Counseling and medication work really well together, in fact many psychiatrists don't want to prescribe medication if you are not seeing a counselor. Anyway, advocate for what you think is right. Good luck.

when you see a psychiatrist they will talk to you. They will probably ask anout what your problems are. When I see my psych she tends to ask how things are generally, then asks about self harm, suicide, hallucinations and paramoia, mood and mood swings and anger etc.
They will just talk to you so try not to be scared about it. You won't get sectioned unless you are a severe danger to yourself or others and it is the last option, they will always offer other things first before sectioning someone.

I think that's what's happening - the counsellor said if the phsychiatrist agrees to see me I won't be meeting with counsellor any more
Bad bad bad me I don't like me any more

no, the psychiatrist definitely is not going to kill you. honestly, the first time i saw one it was essentially the same as seeing a counselor or therapist for the first time... just some small differences..

this is my magical medicine cabinet. Left to right they contain: courage, hope, calmness, and strength.
The magical part: They NEVER run out, so borrow some any time you want.
PM me anytime, I love getting messages :)

A psychiatrist job is basically to diagnose and prescribe meds. It is unlikely they will section you unless you are a significant riskto your own life.
Hopefully they will be able to find a better treatment for you x
