How're the cuts doing now? Has the swelling gone down? This can be totally normal for a couple of days after a cut and often an infection doesn't start until about 3 days after (as it takes that long for the bacteria to get fully established) but sometimes it can occur earlier. If it's now improved rather than worsened then I'd put it down to the normal healing process and just carrying on looking after a wound as you normally would. If it's worsened however then I advise that you go and get it checked out.
