where do you go when in crisis but not A and E?
Where would I go if I was in crisis, but not suicidal etc enough to go to A and E? [Also my local A and E is closing, so God knows where I'd go if I needed that...]
I don't qualify for anything as far as I see, being as I'm not under the care of my local CMHT.
I'll ask my GP next week when I see her. But if anyone has any ideas in the meantime.. ? [I live in NW London, if that helps].
Where do you go, what do you do, when you feel unsafe at home and also unsafe around people going out?
This is mainly for over the Summer holidays, when my therapist, befriender, and flatmate are leaving me on my own to have breaks/holidays/whatever.

Dolly, I think I'm in that crisi house lol.
They take self referrals yes, but it's offered as an alternative to hospital. So where an admission would be required but the person would benefit more from a supportive environment. You should look it up and see what they say though.
Also you can get your gp to refer you to your local mind, so you can go to the day centre and talk or do activities.

Thank you both.
It's more a sort of drop in safe place I was thinking of. When feeling desperate and unsafe, but not acutely suicidal or needing hospital level of safety. Like a sort of refuge drop in kind of place.
As far as I know, my local Mind only have a drop in social group once a week. When I'm at work. And it's not the social stuff I need. It's like a safe respite every now and again, to help me regroup and recharge in a safe place, and not be judged and such. But I will try and find out exactly what they could offer/know of.

What about mind? Or another MH charity in London? I'm sure there's plenty. I was also going to say a helpline like the SAMs or similar.

I need to find out more about that, too... Thanks for the reminder. :)
I'm not sure if it's appointments only, but I could find out.
Though that does entail a stressful bus ride. [It's near work though.]

No NHS.
I was gonna say Samaritans. I've done their drop in before and it's SO much more helpful than the phone. When I went and was in real crisis they said I could stay overnight in one of their meeting rooms and gave me copious amounts of tea. On the phone they're not very helpful, but you can just turn up if you feel unsafe which is good.

Jodie or dolly - are there any other crisis houses in london? Also does the one in north london take referrals from people in any borough?
I am gonna put something similar to a crisis house in my advance statement.

All boroughs will have links with a crisis house.
Katie, that's also relevant to you for if and when you move. Even if you change boroughs you'll be able to access one.
