Prozac withdrawal

Hello,

After taking Prozac for 5 years I'm coming off it with the help of my GP.

I cut my dose in half about 10 days ago and I'll be lowering it again soon but I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about withdrawal symptoms. I know Prozac stays in the body for a while and depletes slowly over a period of time however, I've been having pretty bad headaches and I'm exhausted. The headaches are not as serious as migraines but they are painful. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Hey.

I went from 60mg to nothing cold turkey and got no withdrawal effects at all. Not a wise move, but not one I suffered for.

I hope you feel better soon. *hug*

When I came off it last time I only felt a little more tired than usual. But that was all.

Saying that however I was not on it for as long 5years so you may feel a little more withdrawal than I did.

Tell you go about the headache and tiredness. If your getting withdrawal symptoms that are interfering with your day maybe ask if you can slow down coming off it. Like maybe stay on the dose your in now for like a month and then see how you feel. There is no rush to come off it.
