Has anyone has Dramatherapy?
I got told today I was being referred for dramatherapy on a one-to-one basis. Apparently this may work for me because I seem to be very distanced from my emotions, but I don't really know what it is.
Please- anyone that's come across it or had it, could you tell me how you found it.
Thank you,

Sorry, I haven't, but I wanted to bump this thread so you didn't feel ignored.
Stupid question, but have you tried google-ing it?

It doesn't matter where you come from; it matters where you go.
No-one gets remembered for the things they didn't do. We won't all be here this time next year,
so while you can take a picture of us. We're definitely going to hell,
but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Hi there :)
I'm no expert by any means but am about to start a course that can then lead to doing a masters in Dramatherapy (which all dramatherapists have to have), so I have done a bit of personal 'research' recently!
The idea, I gather, is that by using drama (instead of verbal communication - which a lot of people understandably find difficult) you are able to express yourself in a way that using simply words can't. You may find yourself using your body and voice in a variety of ways like you wouldn't normally in a therapy situation. It should be a safe way of exploring your feelings. There is not that pressure put on you to talk a lot. You don't have to be good at acting if you're worried at all about that, that's not the point. :)
It can be done on an individual (like with you) or group basis. The dramatherapist will most likely have a variety of activities that he/she will use with you. Things like looking at stories and myths, role-play, improvisation and games. They might begin the session with a bit of a 'warm up' (for your body and imagination).
I hope you find it is a good fit for you and you get something out of it. If you're still not fully sure what it's about, have a google, there is good information out there.

The Mole was bewitched, entranced, fascinated. By the side of the river he trotted as one trots, when very small, by the side of a man who holds one spell-bound by exciting stories; and when tired at last, he sat on the bank, while the river still chattered on to him, a babbling procession of the best stories in the world, sent from the heart of the earth to be told at last to the insatiable sea.
Wind in the Willows.
