Does anyone know anything about this? I take 10MG of Escitalopram, the generic version of Lexipro. I started taking it last Saturday and I don't know if the drug just hasn't kicked in yet or maybe it is because of the drug, but my anxiety and depression are growing worse. Every single night I'm fighting with myself to try and calm down, I've had an anxiety attack for the past two nights and my moods have started to swing wildly. I'm just trying to figure out if I should give the medicine more time or should I look for another medicine because if this isn't supposed to happen I need to find something else because I can't take many more nights like this.
Maybe if i find something else I can stop bugging everyone with all these posts heh
Thanks in advance.

One of the side effects is increased anxiety? But it's supposed to be fighting my anxiety. How in the heck does that make sense? *shakes head* Okay I'll try and give it time. Thanks hun, I'll just try and hang in there and hope things get better soon.

I think it's supposed to be similar to Citalopram. Sometimes SSRIs do have the make-things-worse-before-they-get-better side effect at the beginning, but if things don't improve, it's worth going back.
Personally, Citalopram made me much less anxious, though it took a little while to kick in, but didn't really help my mood, though the net effect was positive, but it varies from person to person.
Do you have anything that usually helps your anxiety, like taking a bath, or walking that you could try to do more while the anxiety is bad?
It doesn't matter where you come from; it matters where you go.
No-one gets remembered for the things they didn't do.
We won't all be here this time next year,
so while you can take a picture of us.
We're definitely going to hell,
but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
Yeah i have a few things that help, like drawing and reading, but it's just kinda discouraging. But yeah, I'll hang on and try and get a hold of my perscriping doctor. Thanks
