what are my rights concerning a mental health tribunal and a community care treatment order

I have just came across this forum and its my first time posting a thread. Anyways , I am going to be going to a community treatment order in my health centre , of which to my knowledge i think is about seeing how I am doing and if there has been any change and I also have a tribunal coming up in june. What happened with me was there was a time in my life i was not taking my medication of which i know now when looking back was very unwise as a result of doing so I ended up sick and was isolating myself from friends and also family not wanting anything to do with anyone. So i ended up getting sectioned in hospital because i was unwell. While in hospital there then came a time to appear before a board at a mental health tribbunal to decide what should happen to me . After so long in the hospital and getting to a place where i was alot better in my health and mind etc , i was told at the tribunal i could go home but on a condition that I was willing to accept , Which was attending the health centre every 2 weeks for a injection , of which was a long lasting injection as i only got it every 14 days. Now I have a community care treatment order to attend in my health centre before not my own doctor but a doctor from the tribunal office i beleive to asses me just now of which i think happenes in a community care treament order to see how am doing then they inform the tribunal board about my present condition and then i appear at the tribunal in june this year. But please correct me if i am wrong in thinking what happenes and what a community care treatment order is for etc. Now what i would really like to find out is does it go good for me if i where to print out information regarding me knowing my rights concerning a community care treatment and a mental health tribunal and what to do if i think the decison is wrong. Now if it goes good for me to find this out and to put it before the board , or whoever you think its best for me to give this info to. for eample wether my doctor , social worker or cpn or lawyer. But if you know the ins and outs of how to approach a mental health tribunal in regards to what your rights are and also the same going for a community care treament order , i there anything or any websites i can find out what my rights are in these 2 cases as in tribunal and the CTO , (community care treatment order) I want to find out as much as i can online and print it out and was wondering if tyou could please be so kind as in to pont me in the right direction with links and also wht you would advise etc for this matter. I am appearing for the cto this tuesday morning and I have then to go to a tribunal this june. SOmeone said something to me about to apply for a upper tribunal if i thought the decison they gave would be wrong but anyways i would like to find out everything i asked from you guys and also if there is anything i could pront out about all i have been saying and asking as in websites to get this information on i would be deeply grateful if you could fill me in on this matter along with website links too. Thankyou.

This could be a helpful link: http://www.rethink.org/living_with_m...ghts_and_laws/

Also, your hospital should provide information when you're sectioned, usually in a leaflet and by talking to you, and make sure you understand your rights. You should also have the opportunity to speak to a mental health advocate (though the staff may not directly offer this) of some sort who can talk to you about your rights and support you at tribunals and the like - it might be worth asking your named nurse about your options.

I agree with the above definitely talk to your nurse that you have been assigned as they will be able to tell you who you can talk to. Usually there are advocates who you can talk to to get advice from. Good luck with it all. Take care
