CMHT and Care coordinators
So just to ask, is everyone entitled to a care coordinator, or someone from their CMHT who can touch base with them on a regular basis, because the HTT recomended that I had something like that from my CMHT after I'd been with them for 5-6 weeks as opposed to the usual 1-2, then I tried to hang myself but my CMHT literally turned around and said that they couldn't offer anything at all but another appointment in 5-6 weeks for the balding old twit that is my psych to sit and repeat bullshit and not DO anything....
I'm just wandering, because do I take this to PALS?
or am I being a spoilt **** and just have to face that nope, no-one is goign to help support me in the meantime??

I think it's worth talking to PALS or asking the HTT for help.
The simple answer is no not everyone is entitled to a care coordinator as there simply isnt the resources for this.
However, if the HTT have recommended it I'm surprised they aren't following through on their recommendation.
Did they say why they couldn't offer you more support?

he just said that they couldn't because they didn't have the people to do it. He mentioned the team being only 4 people, but I don't know whether I believe him or not. I mean, could they not outsource some support from elsewhere?
I dunon, I just feel like I really need support and they're really not offering anything for a very long time even though I'm REALLY struggling.

Personally I don't think services being over stretched is any service users problem. If you need support you need support and it is their responsability to provide it.
Take it to PALS hun x

this is why i dont know whether to take it to PALS or not.
but I feel like no matter what happens or what isay the balding old git sits there and nods like ****ing chirchill the dog and is like, OK you're in crisis but we're not going to help, so what you tried to hang yoursel, you've ODed twice and you've been slitting your wrists and drnking to cope, we're still not going to offer ANY sort of support even though the ome treatment team have said they wont see you anymore. LIke what the actual F am I supposed to do.? I'm losing my nut right now.

I know that if you cmht can't help you/don't have the resources then you can be referred out to a different cmht. I'm not sure how this works I just know it happens. Maybe you could ask pals about this.
Get them to kick your current cmht up the ass first though.

I've been told that as a service user has to see their care-coordinator a minimum of once every 3 months. I don't think anything says that you are entitled to anymore than that.
I'm assuming that your CMHT is using your psych appointments every 5-6 weeks to meet those guidelines?
The reason why I'm suggesting that is because when I was under the care of a very under-resourced team they used my psych appointments that way. Although they didn't really fulfill that role because I had no contact in between. But it was all they had to offer.
It may be worth asking to be referred to a different team if theres another that covers your area. I moved 12 months ago to a new CMHT (but stayed within the same mental health trust), and I've now got a CPN as my care-coordinator that I began seeing every 1-2 weeks, (now monthly) and can phone when I need to. Which I guess is more the sort of support you are looking for?

There are obvious defecits in the nhs at the moment. But as a service user you shouldn't feel that, the moment it starts to impact on your health thats when it should goto PALS. If no one tells them there isn't the resources, how will it change?
