Lamotrigine
Hey
Am meant to be taking lamotrigine currently but haven't due to being really anxious about it. Was wondering if anyone on here has any good/bad experiences of it and whether it was helpful.
Hope everyone is well xxx

I've been on it (Lamictal, just the brand name) for about 2 years. I'm on a lot of other meds too, so it's kinda hard to tell how it affected me. I really didn't notice a huge difference, but my number of emergency hospitalizations did go down, but again, it's hard to tell if the Lamictal is the reason for that. I did not have any side effects from it. Definitely give it a try!
Take care xo

I'm on it and it really helps to stop me getting depressed. I get absolutely no side effects. It is the best medication I have been on for depressing.
What are you taking it for? If you don't mind me asking?
Also what are your exact worries?

I've been on lamictal for about 18 months I think. It has never been a wonder drug for me but due to birth control interactions I've never been at a target effective dose. I found that for me it took the edge off my depression and suicidal thoughts. I was still depressed but it was less intense I guess. I am still on it at the moment and still struggling a lot though, so there is that. It never helped me much as a much stabilizer.
I wouldn't feel anxious about taking it though. I have 0 side effects from it, and there are less scary long term things to worry about than many other drugs. I know it is effective for a lot of people. My online advice is to be careful not to miss doses, because when I do I get all twitchy and tingly.
