Is Something Wrong With Me..?

I'm wondering if I'm going crazy or something....

Ever since I've started self-harm, my depression has gotten better and my suicidal thoughts are gone. However, I've been having extremely violent nightmares to the point where I wake up in the middle of the night screaming. I also have violent thoughts and memories. Never about myself, only about the people that mean most to me. I've been losing sleep and my grades have been dropping. My temper is becoming shorter also. I feel like some sort of animal, like out of control. I start shaking randomly when I have a bad memory. Is there something that could be wrong with me, like a mental illness or something?

Well, I'd say there's definitely something wrong. It could be you're developing a mental illness, but it could also be a whole load of other things. Stress, anxiety, trauma, hormones, head injuries ... there are all sorts of things that can affect your emotional well-being in this way. We're not equipt on this site to properly help you get to the root of the problem; the best thing you could do is have a chat about it with somebody you trust, and maybe make an appointment to see your GP about it. Is there a family member, friend, teacher or somebody else who knows you well that you could speak to about it all? I'm not suggesting that you don't talk about things here - we are here to support you - only that we're limited in how we can help.

I agree that there is something wrong but it doesn't make you crazy. It could be a mental illness or something else but only a doctor can diagnose you. One way or the other it is probably worth speaking to a doctor about it. That way they can support you through this
