I am currently:
summer depression

i have bipolar 2 and for the last few years have recognised that i actually get quite depressed in summer (all of my hospital admissions have been around this time) I know a lot of people feel worse in the winter but does anybody else feel the same as me?
now the nights are getting lighter i have an unsettling feeling that things are going to slide again.

i'm the same really, its not that i don't like sun, but i don't like being warm and having very late light nights. That's not just what gets me down, but i am normally a lot worse in the summer, to the extent my family don't like being round me because not only do i get more depressed but i get more angry.

been like this for years, and everytime i say it to a doc they look at me like there's something wrong with me and my only solution as of now is to move to somewhere where summer doesn't really effect it hahah

I tend to have my worst episodes in the summer. Between April and September is worse for me. Winter just feels a lot safer, although I do like the lighter nights. Plus all my bad anniversaries are summer.

So yeah I agree it's the same for me.

I sometimes find the summer difficult for different reasons because in the past all my low weights/worst patches etc etc admissions have all been in the summer. It's all by coincidence but in the past 7 years about 5 of them have been mental health problem orientated be it because I'm seeing a Dr after waiting for months, I'm starving myself more, I'm more busy, the temperature makes me not want to eat, New things come out, new mental health problems start.

I don't why it is, I think it's just pure coincidence. But I remember the main of my problems starting one summer and since then, bam, most summers.
