Anyway. I just wanted to let folks know that my Dad is ok. He had the follow up appointment this week, and it's all looking good. He has to have an Endoscopy under local anaesthetic sometime in June, to check it's not closing up again, but the 'patch' was nothing abnormal, just further scarring from the cystitis. My parents and I are so relieved.
I'm nearly 2 months into being promoted at work, and it's a real learning curve, but I'm settling in to having new responsibilities and such like it was natural all along. Work is stressful at times, so I'm having to take care of myself.
I've actually started going to something outside of work once a week that's not mh related and that's going awesome.
I'm a bit vulnerable at the moment, and the split in my mind/personality still troubles me, but I'm learning, with the help I have, to manage it and understand it more.
I just wanted to drop in and say Hi, and update with what's what. :)
I was thinking about you today, actually, and wondering how you were and then you made this thread. I feel as though it's fate.
I'm glad to hear that things with your dad went okay. I hope they continue to be.
And it's good to hear that the promotion is suiting you well. Perhaps it's a useful motivation to keep yourself taken care of.
Same as Shine, I thought of you and wondered how you were doing today as it's been a while since I've seen you around here. :)
I'm so glad to hear about your dad, I know how worried you were about him and I know it can be a very stressful time. Best of luck to him with his recovery.
The promotion sounds like it's going well for you, even if it is stressful at times, so it's really positive to hear that it feels so natural now.
And well done for starting to go to something outside of work, it's a great feeling to find something you enjoy, a new part of your identity even in some cases.
You've overcome a lot, and it is really good to hear how positive you're sounding, even with the things that are troubling you but learning to understand and manage those things. xx
Good to see you posting and I am glad things turned out well with your Dad and that your job is going well. It sounds like there are lots of positives going on in your life at the moment although I appreciate that that in itself can be quite scary and anxiety provoking as well. What is the thing you are doing once a week if you don't mind me asking?

“The good things don’t always soften the bad, but vice-versa, the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant.”
“Nobody important? Blimey, that’s amazing. Do you know, in nine hundred years of time and space I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important before.”
“If it’s time to go, remember what you’re leaving. Remember the best. My friends have always been the best of me.”
Good to hear from you. I recently returned after a break and I remember you thinking your job was at risk. You work in a library don't you? Good to hear you were promoted and you are enjoying it.
It is also lovely to hear that you are doing something for 'you' and enjoying it :)
