Sertriline
I have just started sertriline 50mg on Thursday. In the last three days it has caused me to be extremely drowsy. Litteraly sleeping all day.
I have been on sertaline before in the past and it gave e loads of energy but this time it is totally knocking me out.
Has anyone else had this side effect from sertriline and if so how log did it last?

I did when I first started taking it but then it made me really awake all the time! I was on it for ages and it does fade :)

I get the opposite with sertraline. It keeps me awake.

Suddenly burn so pale?

I'm on 150mg and yes it made me sleepy at first but then it wore off. I woulsd suggest seeing how you feel in 6 weeks. Go for a review with your Doctor...

I find it makes me sleepy too. I was sleepy at 50mg, but at 100mg I seem to be better.

To say I'm completely devoid of morals, would be harsh. Although I would have to admit I find it difficult to give a ****.

personally when i first started sertraline it would make me drowsy, but now on 150mg and no real side effects. so keep trying with it and hopefully the drowsy effect should pass, but obviously if it is worrying you or doesnt go away talk to your gp. also might be a plan to try taking it at night while it makes you drowsy as then you have a better chance of being alert during daytime.
best of luck

Thanks for all the replys guys.
I currently take it at 6-7pm so that I can avoid the hang over effect. I am seeing my psych tomorrow. The sertriline is mean to be being increased to 100mg but I might ask if I can wait one more week just to get use to the drowsiness.
I really hope it passed because it is really helping to improve my mood. I would like to stay on it if the drowsyness goes.
Can you guys remember how long the drowsiness lasted?
