I am currently:
amiltriptyline for IBS and Sertraline for Anxiety?

I have tried researching this on the internet and of course will ask a GP but I just wondered if anybody else had IBS and suffered with anxiety and takes 2 forms for medication?

I've recently been put on Sertraline instead of Citalopram - I'm on 150mg Sertraline and it is only just starting to help a bit after a few months. It doesn't help too much when I am at my worst but seems to help on my 'better' days.

I'm just wondering if amiltriptyline can be taken with Sertraline?

I'm not keen on taking tricyclics just because they are older... have never tried them before.

Thank you
S x

Hm, not terribly sure. Your GP might be hesitant to prescribe two antidepressants- the risk of serotonin syndrome would be higher.

I have IBS and am on an antidepressant for my anxiety/depression but my GP doesn't hold a lot of stick by the theory that amitryptyline helps

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
