I don't remember, so therefore, I guess I found it by an insignificant search on Google. It might have been when I found in the internet history that my parents were looking at websites on what to do about self-harm with their daughter...
once upon a time when it was ruinyourlife i google searched for pictures i shouldn't have and found myself here. Well, eventually. i literally looked at the pictures until they weren't there anymore and then at some point, don't remember when, I joined the forum.
I think I first found out about RYL back around the turn of the Millennium-ish, I can't quite remember. Probably around about 2001-2002, as the result of a (probably Ask Jeeves) search. But I didn't really understand forums back then, and was reluctant to join a site called RuinYourLife (even though I have since found out it was awesome).
I came back in 2008, probably Googling mental health-related stuff. Weird how I can remember finding it 10 years ago but not 3 1/2 years ago.

for me it was a google search back in........8th grade???? sometime in middle school, i think.......It might have been freshman year......i'm a sophmore now
