Could My Anxiety Meds Stop Working?

hi. im on Fluoxetine i take 7.5 ML every morning (dont know how many miligrams that is) and im thinking maybe its effects are wearing off..i used to be on 2.5 ML then 5 ML each dosage helped abit but eventualy i had to increase..i have been on my current dosage 7.5 ML for about a year and a half possibly 2 years (bad memory ) is my body just becoming immune to the medecine? or is my metabolism consuming it so fast its not having as much of an effect anymore? i really want to know because part of my anxiety at the moment is that maybe one day ill reach the maximum dose of the medecine and it will never work for me again and ill be stuck with my anxiety with no way out and that scares me to death so if anybody knows and could tell me i would appreciate that

7.5 ml is 30mg. I have no idea of your age but if you are over 18 then I think there are other Meds that might be better for Anxiety. It's definately worth speaking to your GP or your mental health team about.

That is a pretty rare occurrence so I don't think that will happen.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

I can't give an exact number but there are so many psych meds out there that it is rare to be "immune" to every single med out there. For example, there are benzodiazepines for anxiety, but if those don't work then there are antidepressants, then some types of anticonvulsants help with anxiety, and even low-dose antipsychotics.

What sometimes happens, I think, is you might be on 1 medication, maybe swop to another and then back again.
People have different views on medication but I hold the view that if it's still beneficial why not take it? (just my view though) Yes one medication might stop working but if that's the case, you try again with another.
