failed 8 tests!!

Today i failed yet another driving test. I drove fine, turned the car around fine. when turning right i cut the corner slightly and that was it!

I could not believe it, i tried to relax and all was going well until that happend. Now i feel like a complete and utter failure, and this has made me loose all my self esteem.

My examiner and instructor have said that there is nothing wrong with my driving its just these little mistakes.

Are they looking for perfection? and because i have failed so many times is this a black mark against my name.

I feel so bad. can anyone help? am i normal???

I haven't sat mine yet although I'm due to soon BUT I did fail my theory 3 times before I passed and it was so disheartening and I thought I really wasn't destined to drive (although my driving was fine)

I've been hearing lots of horror stories about tests lately, a girl I work with just failed her second test due to going 35 in a 30mile zone. I know it's expense but stick at it because think of all the money you've wasted on lessons if you quit.

No they're not looking for perfection. They're looking for safe driving. With a mistake like cutting a corner you're putting pedestrians at risk, which is why you failed. Same with speeding (I failed my first test for speeding >.>).

It's not a black mark against your name. As far as I'm aware they're not even aware of how many tests you've taken. When I did my second one my test man asked if it was my first.

Keep practising. The more you drive the more confident you'll become :)

Imperfection is underrated.

Many people have to retake the test, often more than once. I failed 3 times, my mum failed 6 but we are now much more careful and aware when driving compared to my dad and brother who both passed first time. They seem to think they're invincible. I know it's awful to fail when eveyone expects you to pass this time but don't worry about it. You will get there are all the practice will make you extra awesome :)

I actually have my driving test coming up pretty soon.. I was thinking about my driving test while on my driving lesson and was doing a few big mistakes like when there on coming traffic and the roads get narrower i didn't slow down, eventhough i knew afterwards i should have. Afterwards my driving instructor told me how i need to stop thinking about my test and relax as its a panicy (sp?) drive. I was like it is your right.

You will pass honestly. Everyone does, just keep trying and you will get there.
