Because it's a dragon year that means the year will be a prosperous one. It's also a good year for creativity.

Happy new year!
My dad's partner is second generation Chinese, so I'll be sure to wish her a good new year. I also used to live with a Chinese woman who on my twelfth birthday got my a red bracelet with Chinese coins woven into it. She told me that apparently in Chinese lore the years when the zodiac sign you were born under come back are bad luck, but that the red bracelet would ward it off... I'm not superstitious but it was nice of her to think of me like that. Also according to her I need my sister to give me a red belt for my 24th birthday :\

Sometimes I make Chinese dumplings on the lunar New Year but didn't really have the time or ingredients this year. Still... Happy New Year!
