Hypnotherapy

HYPNOTHERAPY

I have bpd, depression, anxiety and ptsd

Things are currently not good between my hubby and i and he is close to leaving due to my illness.

Hes just been on the phone to a friend whose daughter had OCD so badly she had to give up her job choosing food for customers at Tesco as picking a tim may cause something bad to happen....she couldnt choose her own underwear to wear for that day incase it caused a relative to have cancer.....this isnt what i suffer from...though i have an obsession to punish myself to an extreme (life threatening) and will continue to suffer for the rest of my life to keep my sons cancer from not returning.

This young woman with ocd saw a hypnotherapist and after 2/3 sessions is almost cured.

My husband has booked for me to go and see him...he is desperate for me to be well and so am i,,,but i dont trust them and i cannot let go of me suffering for my son....to keep him safe

what do i do? has anyone been to see a hypnotherapist...i need to be in control and i wont be and im so scared....i love him somuch for trying for me and i feel i should give it a go....but theres certain things i just cant let go of yet....i like the traditional talk through things and work things out that way

Im so scared, I feel sick......and i dont have ocd...i just dont know
well i do, just cant tell him i cant go through it...the lack of control is just so awful for me, and trust

Any ideas please?

I am currently:

I've had hypnotherapy (for PTSD) but apart from being relaxing it didn't do much for me in the way of a "cure" or anything similar.

This was with a therapist who specialised in PTSD and it cost me £50 a session. After 6 sessions I decided it wasn't really doing much other than relaxing me and I opted to use the hypnotherapy CD's you can buy instead. I still use them now to help me sleep :) (I've actually just bought a new one called releasing grief and trauma.)

I guess it works differently for everyone though, depending on your condition, the severity and your therapist.

Good luck if you decide to give it a try :)

My clinical psychologist is qualified in this, but I didn't have enough trust to let it work. You are always in control and it may be useful as a way to help you relax and refocus.

Thank you for your replies xx

I have spoken to my therapist and she says its a definate no for some one with rape or trauma in their back graound as it can lead to reliving it all and leaving false memories....so having spoken with my husband it is a no for me...i trust my therapist and will go by what she says

thank you though x

I did a kind of hypnosis a few times and I was always good, except for the last time.
I dissociated and I think I had some kind of flashback (not sure, cause I wasn't able to talk with my therapist about it, cause I wasn't able to talk for a while). It was really unpleasant, but it happened when I was supposed to come back and not because my therapist said something wrong etc.
Does that make sense?

You survived the abuse.
You're gonna survive the recovery.

Can I ask where you get the cd's from? I'm willing to try anything at this point. Thanks

I aim to get through each day and on a bad day each hour
