How to get help? When no one notices how bad it is?

How do you get help when you try so hard to let professionals know how you're feeling but they don't notice, and think you're fine? I was obviously so anxious during my appointment(was an inital appointment/assesment), couldn't make eye contact, could hardly talk, but they still think I am fine?? I just don't know what to do I want help so bad I could cry just thinking that I'm probably going to be discharged I feel like I have so many thoughts going round in my head and find it hard to concentrate so sorry if this doesn't make sence x

I am currently:

I can relate :( I think I'm so used to holding myself together and hiding my emotions that I'm not sure professionals get right away when I'm not doing well. I'm not sure how to fix this...with my therapist, we've been working together a long time, so she knows not to go by if I look okay or not. But it's harder if it's someone who doesn't know you well. Maybe assume that they won't be able to tell that you're feeling badly unless you straight out tell them in words--not with your facial expression or anything. And if you can't talk, maybe you could write or draw about it. I would say something like "I'm feeling really, really anxious...I'm not feeling safe to be discharged right now." If you're feeling suicidal or like self-harm or whatever, then say that too. And if they don't seem to get the message, keep saying it. Be a broken record. Make sure you're expecially clear about what you feel like you need (not being discharged, etc.). I'm not sure this will work 100%, but it's the best solution I can think of :/ Hugs <3

That is a horrible situation to be in and I can also relate. Its often difficult to get things out verbally and you are often reliant upon the clinician asking the right questions.

kbeth has already posted some good advice and I echo the idea of writing things down. I always find it easier to sit down a few days before an appointment and jot down how I have been feeling. A lot of the time I'll just list some symptoms that I have been experiencing and hand it over to them and say that I would be happy to elaborate on any of the points. It really does make things easier.

If you really are worried could you perhaps contact them by phone/letter and state that you concerned about being discharged and that you think they haven't got an adequate picture of whats going on for you? Be honest with them - the more they know, the more they can help.

I'm sorry you're feeling so bad, hope you get it sorted. (hug) x
