Fade to Black
Stuck inside your gaze; frozen to the wall
This last falling out stands above them all
Told a little lie, broke a couple hearts
Doesn’t matter now we’re breaking apart
You’ll learn that every kingdom has to fall
To bars and glass bottles and throwing darts
You know every apology was lies
You know it when you look into my eyes
You yell and then you cry your tears and whine
But save it for the people in your mind
Don’t think that things are better with you and I
Don’t ask if I want you to stay behind
I don’t want your thoughts I don’t want your hopes
I don’t want your gifts I don’t want your jokes
I don’t care if you think you fixed it, no
If the going is good then please just go
Stop trying to hold on to broken ropes
We both know you’re wrong and you’re stooping low
You said you wish you could take it all back
You’d do it again as we fade to black
So cry a little harder now for me
Don’t you know your excuses are lazy?
I’m sick and tired of picking up your slack
If you think you’re right then just look and see
What you did to everyone including me
This was for my dad, who recently left us.
