As some may have read in the support thread, I'm moving back in with my parents this weekend after 3 years away from them.
I'm trying to be positive about it. Being with my parents will give me a kick to hurry up and find a job so I can move out again. At the moment I'm surviving on benefits which is never a good thing. For the first month my wounded pride spurred me on to try and get a job, but after that, you resign yourself to the situation and get comfortable. You start to think that maybe this is it, you focus less on the future and accept the **** jobcentre staff give you, treating you like something on their shoe.
I'm not going to deny that I will hate being with my parents again, but I think that's a good thing because I will try harder to do something with my life so I can get out of there.
Also, I haven't told them about my issues, but I have told them that I need to start seeing someone when I'm back. My mum has done both nursing and counselling so she knows exactly where I can go to get help which is good.
The various relationship issues I've discussed over years on this forum will be helped by going home too. It will give me some space away from him- yes there are visits but it's not the same as living 20 mins away- it's a good thing.
All of that aside, I am terrified and think things will get worse before they get better.
I guess I just need to brace myself...
