Controlling mood swings in BPD

So basically, how do you do it?

I'm in DBT etc and stuff/on an antidepressant. But it feels like. I don't know. I try to employ my 'emotion regulation' skills to make everything more manageable, but I guess I just don't understand how it'll help. It's all very well going through the whole identifying/riding out/mindful shabang, but it feels like there's an aspect of the mood dysregulation it just glosses over: the bit where your mood changes so suddenly and arbitrarily that really there is no stopping/diverting it. And that makes life so difficult.

Am I just doing it wrong? I just can't deal with not knowing what's gonna happen in my head next.

Bah. Probably a pointless thread. May delete soon. Sorry for pointlessness.

I don't do DBT but have CAT and I also hate the sudden down that I get. I'm supposed to identify why I feel like I do but sometimes there is no reason. Sorry I don't have an answer but I do understand if that helps n

Thank you, therapy is mostly going well. =)

Good luck with DBT. It's worth it.
