Dreams.

Are our dreams only something we can fulfil whilst young, or should we strive to achieve them no matter what our age?

We can still fulfill them no matter what age. Age is just a number. If anything age can help, because you have more experience and perhaps more confidence. My gran is almost 80 and she has been to so many places, countless times, around the world. All of this was done as a pensioner. Age means nothing and shouldn't hold you back from your dreams.

Both. I think it totally depends on the dream. Was there a specific one you had in mind?

Yeah, things can be logistically harder to achieve when you're older as you have more responsibilities and possibly less opportunities. But things can also be easier as you're more mature, more able to deal with problems and... I dunno, I think you just value things a bit more. That's purely my opinion though.

Also, dreams change. When I was a kid it was my dream to go to China and meet a panda. Obviously I had to wait until I was older to achieve that (it was awesome.) Right now it's kind of my dream to find somewhere in the UK to settle down but that's not achievable at the moment as England is freekin expensive!

There's one of those 'inspirational' quotes somewhere - something like 'it's better to attempt something and fail than to attempt nothing and succeed.'

So yeah, I don't think age should be a barrier.

I'm kinda stuck. To achieve my dream would cost a fair bit and I feel guilty spending it on me. Especially if I dont get a job out of it. I want to be a criminal profiler.

I let my ex husband ruin it for me before, maybe I should say stuff it and go for it.

I see no reason why age should be a barrier to you becoming a Criminal profiler.

I don't think age would be a problem there - in fact you could probably turn it into an advantage (more life experience.)

What would you actually have to do to become a criminal profiler? Is there a specific course or sth? Why would you feel guilty about spending the money? If you can afford it, do it. If not, get saving!

I don't think you should feel guilt about spending the money on becoming a criminal profiler; it's not like it would be a frivolus expenditure, more an investment in your future if that makes sense. True you might not get a job at the end of it all but that wouldn't be your fault.


If I were in your position I'd write out a list of all the pro's & all the con's of studying criminal profiling; that often helps me decide what to do when I'm thinking of doing something.

I've seen a course but it will be £300. And that would be just the start. I really wanna do it!

I love to know what makes people do what they do. My main passion is serial killers. They intrigue me.

As a short person myself, I feel the need to stick up for you. But yeah, never underestimate a short person.

On a more serious note, to be honest I'm not exactly sure what a criminal profiler is, but yeah if that's what you really want then go for it, and as others said, age shouldn't be a barrier.
