Im so sorry about this hun. You're nto a failure.. its not your fault *cuddles*

I understand why it is so distressing to watch your ferret in pain, its a very horrible situation to be in, but cutting isnt going to take your ferrets pain away.
Do you know exactly what the problem is with him/her? Are you sure there's no way you can see a vet? xxx

I hope for nothing. I fear nothing. I am free.

Don't give up, you're not a failure because you're caring for your ferret, and he needs you. maybe this link will help? http://www.freepetclinics.com/NH/

You are NOT a failure. I'm sure you've looked after him as best as you can. I don't know whats up with him but many problems arise just out of chance not because you have done anything wrong. I don't know if theres anything like PDSA where you live which is a charity that if you are hard of money and on benefits you can get free vet treatment but it may be worth looking into (well I don't know if you're on benefits or not but there might be someone that can help). Also, if you ask the right people the vets you are currently taking him to may be able to help with payment, so long as they get the payment eventually they may let you pay in installments or something if you can't afford it.

Cutting won't help anything. I know you're probably thinking thats easy for me to say but I've been in a similar situation with my dog before, I was a couple of hundred miles away whilst he was dying at home and I know how rubbish it is but you can get through.

You should do what you think is best, talk to the vet about it, see what they say, they've ALL seen similar situations before so know just how to react and they are normal people (apart from all being a bit weird but I'm a vet student so I'm allowed to say that!)

If you ever want to talk I'm here.

It isn't your fault in the least you have done what you are able and that is all that can be asked of you at this point. Cutting won't help the ferret or yourself feel better about it. I hope things get better.

I know how you feel, my rat was put to sleep about a few weeks ago & I felt so helpless.

It isn't your fault that your ferret is ill. Is there anyone that can give/lead you the money? A vet consultation is about £20 - & you can decide from there what you do. It may just be a case of your ferret needing anti-biotics & they aren't that expensive.

Are you on Income support/housing benefit/council tax benefit? If so you're entitled to free treatment at the PDSA.

Maybe if you can't borrow the money you could have a re-payment arrangement with the vet.

I really hope your ferret is going to be ok, I really would urge you to try to find a way to take him to the vet.

Best of luck x
