Seriously - is there medication for this?
I can't get over my guilt on issues that others think are superficial. I can remember specific events from when I was little and when they pop into my head, it literally jolts me and then I feel like scum for days. then there is anything that has happened since. same thing.
I have lived a life of 'er'. no matter what was wrong, how I felt, what I did, or what happened to me, someone else had it 'er', if you get the meaning. As a result, a lot of these things that are tearing me up have never been said out loud. I just can't. Besides, when I did attempt to get help as a teenager, the counsellor just said I was 'overly sensitive' and to get over it. in other words, no matter what, someone else, well, everyone else is always 'er' and I shouldn't waste the time of important people.
something happened last nite. my husband says 'it happened - get over it' but another soul was effected because of me and I can't just let it go. It isn't the worst or the least of my experiences, but it is physically hurting.
I am completely serious in this question: I am not a drug user, but golly there has to be a drug out there that will lower my conscience - even if it is just a little. Just to make me not care about the effects of my actions so much. Just be normal. Does such a thing exist? And if so, what non-related symptoms to I need to give a psyc. to get it?
The reason I ask for the symptoms to report is that for the last 17 years, every time I have gone to a doctor for a physical issue, they tell me to get counciling. Kid you not. When things got so bad I could barely function, I webMd'd specific symptoms just to get doctors to at least run tests in the general vicinity of the complaint areas. This lead to 11 proceedures and surgeries over the course of a year and a half and me being yelled at for not getting medical treatment earlier, before thinggs got so bad. So, I have no confidence, with this current history combined with the one time I tried to get mental help, that if I am honest, anyone will take me seriously.
I need drugs because I can't stop the guilt. Please help.
