Dissiociation Frequency

Im sorry to ask stupid questions and be whiney but im worried and not sure who else would give me a straight answer.

Basically, i always have dissociated. I'm used to it, especially after a particular rough "manic-ish"/"up"/what-ever-its-called stint or just as im hitting the bottom of a depressive stint. But recently, in the last 3 months, the amount of times and when i dissociate has changed. and i no longer get the warning signs im familiar with.

This is worrying me. It's also making me anxious because im familiar with my "ups" and "downs" and what happens around them and this is a spanner in my cogs :/

Anyone got any clues? Advice? Similar? Help? :(

I get similar sometimes. What helps me is talking about it in therapy and reflecting on it also myself. Then I'm able to track the causes and understand more.

Would keeping a journal of what is happening help you to track when the dissociation is occuring and link it to any potential triggers.

It is also worth raising with your care team, as they can help look into ways of helping. That, and mine always say to let them know if things have changed.

I used to dissociate (derealise) all the time, especially when I go out of the house but sometimes even in the house. I'm able to control it a lot more now. The thing that works for me is if I don't think about it, it doesn't happen. I know it sounds so simple and it is. The problem is when I go to places where I'm used to it happening, then I can't help but think of it and then it happens. Anyway I don't know if this will be of any use to you, but I hope you can find something too to control it.
