I have never talked to the therapists I was made to go to, and to be honest, I regret missing the opportunities. Don't let your anger at your mum rob you of something that could be really good for you.

if you have the opportunity to go, PLEASE take advantage of it. the therapist can't even tell your mom what you say, unless you're in dire need of more help. so you can choose what your mom knows. and it may end up feeling really good. this will probably be a person who will listen to you, and not jump down your throat when you open your mouth

this is my magical medicine cabinet. Left to right they contain: courage, hope, calmness, and strength.
The magical part: They NEVER run out, so borrow some any time you want.
PM me anytime, I love getting messages :)

When I was younger, my parents tried to do the same thing to me. I was forced to see somebody and I went in and just didn't say anything. My doctor had already diagnosed me with a lot of issues so they wanted to work on it all. It ended up being a waste of time and eventually he told my parents I was fine and didn't need to see him anymore. Then in high school things got a lot worse and finally this year, several years after high school, I hit a new rock bottom and I gave up, so I finally took myself to see somebody and I am so happy I have. While I do regret not taking advantage of the opportunity earlier when I had it, I couldn't get the help I needed until I was ready for that help. So matter what any of us say, or your family, your not going to get anything out of it unless your ready and you want to. I do encourage you to try to have an open mind though and maybe not fight it right away. I encourage you to try to start to open up to who ever you will be seeing, just to start to see how things go. Maybe you'll find yourself more ready than you think you are. Please PM me if you need anything

It really sounds like your parents are trying to help you, and be supportive of you. As difficult as it is, please try and use this as a chance for you to get the help you need. Of all the reactions parents can take regarding self harm, having you get professional support is the best one (even if it feels awkward).
How did the appointment go?
