I am currently:
bpd

hey guys...

so my doctor thinks i have bpd and i cant belive him and i dont really know what it is he was like yeah think you have this oh btw you have been labelled with everything from anxiety to aspergers and inbetween but we think you have bpd and are gonna make a referal... i cant accept that what does he know and now it just feels like everyone was right i am totally crazy...

Being diagnosed as BPD doesn't make you 'totally crazy' lovely. Yes it is a serious mental health condition but it doesn't mean you are crazy or that you can't have a good, settled life in time.

Is the referral to a team who specialise in treating personality disorders? It's good that you've been referred for help because this is your chance to start recovery and to learn about BPD and the things you can do to help yourself etc.

been refered to a place that does dbt for bpd and they will be able to defo say if i have bpd or not x thankyou for the reply means alot x

That's good. If they confirm the BPD, you will probably be offered DBT. It can make a massive difference :) xx

Borderline personality disorder is a complex disorder so I don't know how great I'll be at describing it. It is characterised mostly by being emotionally unstable. So getting mood swings that may last only a few hours before swinging in to another emotion. Viewing things in black and white terms. Intense personal relationships - one minute loving somebody, the next absolutely haitng somebody. Impulsive behaviours. Feelings of emptiness. Self harm/suicidal ideation. Inappropriate anger.

Of course you don't need all this things and if you do a google search you will find a lot more information.

DBT is called Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. It teaches you four components - Mindfulness, Interpersonal Relationships, Emotion Regulation and Distress Tolerance. Within those components are skills to help you with your BPD and to live a more manageable and effective life.

Again, a google search may be helpful!

I am currently:

Ihave/bpd/ do dbt, basicly like tig said you learn about the core elements and basicly how to function in life with reduced complications/stressed. BPD isnt as bad as it seams. Look it as you finly know whats wrong and you can work on it if it turns out you have it.
