I know it's not 'self' harming but a lot of the time if by accident i get hurt i'm always secretly glad it happened because I haven't self harmed in around six months (not including a few slip ups).
I was just wondering if this is something anyone else feels?

I feel that way most of the time I get hurt by accident.

I wouldn't say it counts though, because you are not hurting yourself on purpose. You are just experiencing the pain that results differently.

No it doesn't count. But i've felt this way for as long as I can remember. In fact, I probably like it more because I don't have to hide it and can enjoy the attention because whatever happened was an accident.

But now that I think about it its probably worth identifying these feelings because they are most likely linked to SI.

i feel really bad when i hurt myself by pure accident. i worry people will think im up to my old tricks of self harming. i dont want to go back to that as it has been over a year now.

I can totally relate to this. As a kid I used to obsess about getting hurt accidently which later turned into SH.
