SI Question - Old injury that still hurts

Ok.. I've honestly had a little look through and couldn't find any threads like this.. And the general information (although useful) didn't quite answer my question. But I am sorry if this has been asked before.
Basically I cut myself very badly two months ago (almost to the day). It was so bad that I could see [removed info]. At the time it simply wasn't possible to go to the hospital, which was awful because it took almost a month to heal.
But more urgently, it still hurts when I rotate my wrist. Its not incredibly painful, but the pain is definitely noticable. I wonder that i've done some permanant damage. It was such a long time ago and i've just never had this happen with a cut before. Some advice or info would be much appreciated.
Thank you :)

After two months everthing will still be healing. There will be scar tissue and how bad is depends on how deep it goes and whether it goes through tissues such as muscles/ tendons. If it does then these do take a long time to heal. Otherwise, also, scar tissue does take a long time to heal fully (you could argue it never does to some degree) and if it is in or arround tendons/ muscles it can effectively shorten the muscle or put pressure on the surrounding areas and therefore make it harder and more painful for them to happen. As well as that there is also the fact that there is some nerve damage, as said above, or that it is as simple as it is taking your body some time to heal and over time, especially given rest, the area should improve.

What does the pain feel like when you get it? Do you have any loss of sensation in or around that area? Any pins and needles around there? Also, can you move your wrist fully and if not is this because of pain/ it feels like it won't move any further or a bit of both (/or you're unsure)?

Thanks for the replies. Now that I think about it, I can actuallyrotate and move my wrist fully without any pain. However if I ball my hand into a fist and then stretch it out, it can be quite painful... It seems to be connected to the movement of my thumb. The pain reminds me of having a bruise. So not incredibly painful, but definitely noticable.
There is no loss of sensation at all. But some days it can hurt more than others. And although the injury has healed, it still looks quite vunerable and raised. I've been keeping it covered so as not to freak people out.

It may be that you've just done a bit of damage to one of the muscles or tendons and the scar tissue there is a bit tight. Overtime if that is the case it will improve. By the sounds of it it has been already anyway which is a positive sign :). If you cut that deeply again (or anything where the wound is on the hands/ feet/ lower leg/ face/ genitals/ is wider than 1cm or down to fat (tellow and bubbly) then it should get checked out as these wounds may need stitches and in some cases deeper damage may have been done and you really don't want long term or permanent damage if you can help it.

Obviously what is done is done and you've just got to wait and see; I said the last bit in terms od any future cuts. Something I'd say is to keep on moving your hand as much as possible and move your thumb unless it is really painful. This will keep it exercised, keep the bloodflow going to the area and also keep the muscles and tendons stretched/ working as they should and this should prvent any scar tissue causing the muscle/ tendon to shorten as much (as some can do). If you are doing this and it gets a lot worse then STOP and get it checked out.

That's okay, don't worry about it.
