sympotms returned?

I was off meds completely for a month and ive been back on them for like 3 weeks now. I take venlafaxine (300mg) for depression.

The thing is that since ive gone back on them the symptoms of my depression are there and reasonably strong. I have the feelings of helplessness and hopelessness, loss of interest in daily activities and motivation, sleep and appetite changes, lack of energy, loathing of self and concentrations problems.I know these are general depression symptoms. So should i be worried or is it just my body taking longer to work with the meds again.

Ive got an appointment with my psych on the 6th. Im thinking about mentioning this but im afraid she wont listen.

Maybe you're on the wrong medication. Venlafaxine did little for me, either. I'm glad you're seeing your psych soon.

I am currently:

Antidepressants can take up to 6 weeks to work, so it may be a case of time.

However like Stellata said, it could be the actual med. Venlafaxine was pretty much useless for me too.

The best bet is to mention with your psych when you have the appointment. Another antidepressant may be better for you, or your psych may say that give it a couple more weeks. Either way, it would be very unwise to keep quiet about this, so I think it is a good idea to mention it during your appointment.

It could have something to do with stopping the meds and then restarting them. Or it may just take a bit longer to kick in again. I would mention it to your pysch though
