Multiple threads question

I know I'm not the only one on here that is annoyed by seeing them. So I wanted to ask that there be one main thread kept about (live journal, tumblr, facebook etc) and the others be locked? Just an idea I would throw out since there are often links added to threads such as above saying they already exist.

I dont mind it.

one or two threads on main page doesnt hurt anyone.

but 3 or even four i once saw gets annoying but if there isnt a link on first/second pae fr it i dont mind someone posting another thread for something.

and sometimes it beats one super long old thread from 2008 anyway
