Does anyone know how much it would cost to install a new storage heater?
I'm being driven mad at home by some strange noises in the bath room (fortuantely, not dripping noises!). I think it's coming from downstairs, however, in the mornings and late at night I used to be able to hear my water heating up via the storage heater. I can't hear that any more, and isntead can hear this really peculiar noise. It's as though the downstairs flat has got a huge crayon and they are sweeping the end of it across the wall in a big circular motion, and then sweeping it back a little bit. Told you it was peculiar
I'm worried that my heater is having trouble running, as I haven't had it serviced for a while. It makes me nervous anyway because I can see the spark of electricity when it switches on, and I can sometimes smell the dust burning on it, although I haven't had smoke or anything (I'd be living in a hotel right about now if that were the case!).
I feel I should have it serviced, and the person will probably say, "Had you thought about a new one?" and yes, I have, but I can't seem to find any prices on line. They're all happy to say, "Yes, we can install it" but are really coy about saying what the cost will be. If they say, "We'll charge you £400" would that be reasonable or am I being ripped off?
