I think letting your GP know how you are feeling right now is a good idea.
It is worth remembering that there is no magic cure with mh issues and so it is worth taking a step back and looking to see if there have been any small steps that can amass together as improvement. Sometimes we need to take that step away and give things an overview to notice them.
It is good that you are going to Counselling and DBT - have you found them helpful at all, and do you feel able to feed back to the people there on how you are feeling? Do they feel you have improved at all?
I understand how suicidal ideation and feelings can become overwhelming and so I wonder if you could ask to see your Psych sooner? It may be that if you explain how you are feeling they could bring the appointment forward for you.
Do be as honest as you can with your care team. I know it will take time, and it can be frustrating, but things can improve.
Be gentle with yourself.
