Aripiprazole and anxiety
Does anyone else here take aripiprazole? I am on 15mg aripiprazole and 20mg olanzapine. What side-effects do you experience? Do you feel it helps? I am quite sure that my extra anxiety is from the aripiprazole, do you get anxiety?

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

Aripiprazole gave me awful anxiety attacks, back when I was on it in February I went out for a meal with my grandparents and I just couldn't handle it. It felt like everyone in the room was staring and burrowing into my mind. In the end I had to leave and hide in the car because it was making me feel so agitated.
I have spoke to a couple of people at my EIP group and they have told me aripiprazole caused anxiety in them as well. I suspect it may be due to the fact that the drug can be quite over stimulating in some people.

Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money.
They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with.
Some men just want to watch the world burn.

The anxiety could be part of akathesia, which I think aripip can cause.

Aripiprazole made me very anxious as well - my heart felt like it was always racing and I couldn't relax. It didn't help me with my paranoia etc, but I have been diagnosed with BPD so that's perhaps not surprising.

It's odd that everyone feels that way because I'm on aripiprazole and it actually
helps my anxiety

Ok thank you for the replies. I think my anxiety may be stress-related to be honest. I felt not too bad today because I relaxed. I am sorry to hear that a lot of you had anxiety problems with aripiprazole.

I was on 10mg of aripiprazole but got really bad akathesia from it. It really helped my mood swings and I didn't notice any increase in anxiety from it. Although I take medication for anxiety as well so maybe thats why.
I'm on 5mg with no akthesia now and soon going to try 7.5mg, since 5mg isn't quite doing it for me.

Thanks for the information. I have felt a lot less anxious today and yesterday so I think I'll be ok.
